Good morning!

First up, sorry that this submission is a little bit late. The team and I have been busy juggling many, many things and I am proud to say we can present another demo! A full year has passed and what better way to mark another milestone in the team's creative ability and to showcase what we've been up to!

Please note that this is a BETA DEMO. This is our 2nd demonstration which is (hopefully) a vast improvement from our first. To sum the new features:
- Improved overall writing
- General programming
- New tutorial
- Improved inventory system
- New music
- New artwork

This is in no way a finished product but a demonstration showing what we're currently working on.

Noted errors:
- Spelling/grammatical mistakes
- Character name errors
- Wrong dialogue
- Playing offline / fullscreen mode will enable you to see my mad Flash tweening skills. This will be fixed for the full version XD

Do let me know of any more glitches and weird errors! We can't fix it if we don't know about it!

:bulletred: I am aware that this is submitted under the Flash/Game category. Due to how our programmer :iconflippinmental: has programmed it, the engine needs to reference external sources for the dialogue (in .XML format) and cutscenes(.swf) to work properly. The advantage of this is that it cuts loading time by miles and it makes it easier for all of us to change and tweak different parts of the game without having to go into the master Flash file. This in turn makes it easier for us as a team to work on it as well as players with slow internet connections ... and many other practical reasons that I can't quite remember off the top of my head at the moment.

If you feel that this project is in the wrong category please let me know.

About HW/Team Wasabi:
:bulletblue:Hungry Whispers / Project Whispers is an open game project for anyone interested in a career in the game industry.
:bulletblue:It is a stepping stone to improve our creative skill and to see whether we can make something awesome.

:bulletgreen: The original HW demo started out as my university dissertation and to help with its production I formed a small team. I wanted to focus on the music/audio side of an interactive environment so a simple point and click/visual novel styled horror game resulted.

We ended up having so much fun that we decided to work on a full version for the hell of it. I've also opened the project to new potential team members because I believe we can learn so much in the process.

That's all the rambling I can write for the moment. I'm pretty sure I'll edit this comment section when I think up of something.

It's been a small roller coaster for everyone to work on this project in our free time for a whole year but I can certainly say that it's worth it. We've got an actual project to showcase and I'm so, so grateful for my team sticking with me. Thanks guys. I'll buy you proper cake when I'm not poor :P.

For the guys and gals who've stumbled upon this project for the first time...hey! I hope you enjoy our work-in-progress game that we've been working on! Feel free to leave a comment and all that jazz. :)

I've rambled for far too much in this comment. So all I can really say is...enjoy! And look forward to Halloween! :evillaugh:

For this demo, it does stop at the low battery! You'll need to download the file to play further.

Thanks for playing :)

Looks great, A lot of thing I wanted to mention in the first beta got fixed already in the second one. Except for maybe the inventory, which looks much better in the second one, you might just want to leave a little white bar of it at the top at all times. Makes it just a bit more present. Another idea might be having your own mouse icon. Love how it's getting along :)

Thank you so much for the comment!

A white bar is a really good idea, just to give an indication that there's something there and improve userbility. Ooooh...personalised mouse icons! I've no idea how to do that within Flash but it's definitely something I can look into soon!

Thanks again for taking the time to look at our work! We can only get better with each upload ^_^

No problem :) looking forward to seeing more :D

Hmm don't know if you have a function to replace the cursor with a bitmap, otherwise you could just make a movieclip and give it the x and y position of the mouse :D. Sure there is some way haha.
